Colleen Corcoran is the designer and owner of Happy Hanky.
Her love of hankies started at age 7 when her mom gave her one for her First Communion. She recalls always carrying it in her handbag because it made her feel very lady-like and sophisticated.
Colleen read many blogs and articles over the years about women who wanted to purchase new hankies but they could not find them in department stores or boutiques. Some of thier desire for hankies was driven by their need to be eco-chic while others were just longing to purchase some fun, modern hankies for special occasions. When Colleen could not find any pretty hankies to give her own bridal party, she was inspired to design the Happy Hanky line.
She named the line Happy Hanky after recalling that her mom told her hankies hold memories from happy tears, like laughing so hard you cry with friends or at weddings. The feel-good poem found on the package of each Happy Hanky was written by her mom, Marcy Renay.
Colleen has worked in the Visual Merchandising and Marketing industry for ten years. In addition to the Happy Hanky line, she and her husband, Jeff, own the online bridal boutique ClassyLittleBride.com. Colleen loves fashion, cocktail rings, antiquing and scoping out good food finds with Jeff. She began collecting hankies when she was in college and last counted over 150 pieces in her collection.
Colleen is currently working with Jeff to develop a men’s handkerchief line.
